have been appointed to manage an interim (3-month project contract) recruitment process on behalf of a leading organisation to identify a Tax Advisor in Sydney, Australia.

The Tax Advisor will be responsible for a range of taxation responsibilities across compliance, FBT management and system implementations.

This contract opportunity will focus on the Australian FBT return and various income tax and tax effect accounting matters for the group.


Your success in this role will hinge on the strength of your technical experience in corporate income tax and fringe benefits tax.

You will have a strong knowledge and understanding of taxation risk and regulatory requirements (cultivated at a big4 accounting firm and/or mid-tier accounting firm) and also best practice for Australian groups operating in a global market.


  • Preparation of tax returns; GST, payroll tax, fringe benefits (FBT) and income tax returns.
  • Preparation of Tax Effect Accounting and tax reporting requirements.
  • Review and analysis of quarterly tax submissions, including preparation of commentary where required.
  • Preparation of yearend tax notes and commentary, analysis and forecasting of key tax metrics in Global Tax reporting.
  • Liaising with external advisors, auditors and revenue officers as required in relation to tax compliance matters.
  • Proactively manage tax payments for the business including company tax instalments, withholding tax, GST, payroll tax, fringe benefits tax.
  • Support the Head of Tax to develop and implement policy, procedures and systems in relation to all aspects of tax compliance.

Requirements:


  • Can start within 12 weeks.
  • Degree qualified in accounting, commerce or law.
  • Professional membership with CA, TTI or CPA.
  • Experience with tax consolidated groups and strong knowledge of Australian tax law, predominantly across corporate income tax.
  • Strong tax effect accounting experience.
  • Professional and committed with excellent communication skills.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to analyse and glean insights from data.
  • Strong Excel, CCH Integrator and SAP experience.
