Your role


This role works in the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Digital Experience Unit, which is responsible for managing the department's digital channels including its websites and intranet.

Through these channels we provide an inclusive, consistent, high-quality digital experience for our clients and customers.


We are looking for someone who is familiar with digital publishing and has a passion for customer-focused content to help us update and improve our websites and intranet.


As part of the Product Management team, you'll be responsible for publishing new content and updates to the DCJ websites and intranet using content management systems, working closely with other team members and DCJ staff.

You'll action daily requests that come into our ticketing queue as well as support larger projects.

You'll help other content publishers to edit their content, and work alongside developers, accessibility experts, project leaders and user experience designers.


Reporting to the Senior Product Management Officer, you'll provide a range of administrative, content publishing and project support services for efficient and effective operations of the department's websites and intranet to achieve the organisational objectives of delivering customer service excellence.


What you'll do


This role provides project management and support, problem solving, content management, compliance and reporting for the department's digital products including websites and intranet to meet the needs of customers business and accessibility/legal requirements.


  • Upload and maintain information on the department's websites and intranet using enterprise content management and service management platforms.
  • Support stakeholders across the department in managing content publishing requests within timeframes and meet the legislated compliance requirements.
  • Review visitor traffic, accessibility compliance and other appropriate web content management support requests to assist with the evaluation of DCJ websites and intranet.
  • Provide information, advice, technical support and training as required to the content publishers for managing DCJ websites and intranet.
  • Provide daytoday administrative and project support, including developing and monitoring project plans and coordinating/liaising with resources for assigned projects.
  • Draft a range of projectrelated documents for the team and other key stakeholders as required, including project status updates and reports.

What we're looking for
In addition to meeting the focus capabilities of the role, you must have:

  • Previous experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Squiz Matrix or SharePoint content management systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology or a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • A strong understanding of latest WCAG specifications
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • managing a range of digital communications products including intranet and websites in a large and complex organisation.
- managing content publishing queue using industry-standard content management systems such as AEM, Squiz Matrix and SharePoint.
- understanding of the regulatory environment for government digital communications, including security, accessibility, usability, compliance with legislative requirements, brand management and procurement.
- familiarity with digital publishing using industry standard content management systems (for example, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Drupal, SharePoint or Squiz).
- understanding of visitor analytics, search engine optimisation, metadata and user experience design principles.
- qualifications in Information and Digital Technology, Digital Communications or equivalent related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- understanding of the regulatory environment for government digital communications, including security, accessibility (including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines [WCAG AA]), usability, compliance with legislative requirements, brand management and procurement.
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail.
- ability to keep up-to-date with technological developments and a can do attitude.
- strong relationship management skills with an ability to engage with people across all levels of an organisation.
