Job Purpose

The primary objective of the position is to coordinate, monitor and record the training and induction requirements for the GSBC10 project to ensure site compliance at all times.


Responsibilities

During Transition Period up to 1st July 2023

  • Setting up and configuration of L & D requirements for the LMS system (Chris 21 from Frontier) including interaction with other HR and Finance/Payroll modules in collaboration with the IT team
  • Supporting the Safety Manager in relation to the Advance Fatigue Management training requirements and delivery including liaising with relevant RTOs and Safety regulator
  • Supporting workstream leads in identifying their in house training and induction requirements (who will deliver it/SME, how is it delivered, what is the learning outcomes, how the learning will be assessed and to what standard)
  • For new bus drivers, coordinating enrolment to the bus driver authority training course with either BusNSW Trainers or authorised driver trainers (listed on BusNSW) and later on to the upgraded licence training plus our inhouse practical driver training delivered by an external provider (Driving school /RTO)
  • Coordinate training on the driving simulator
  • Checking and maintaining all current SMEs training and qualifications records in line with internal practices (record management system) ensuring they are qualified &competent to deliver any internal requirements (e

g:
OCC in house training)

  • Transferring and maintaining currency of staff records in the LMS system (including transferring employees)

Transition Period and into Business as Usual (after 1st July 2023)

  • Set up and coordinate training schedule and employee training sessions in collaboration with business unit managers, attendance to training sessions, including arranging invitations, catering and room bookings
  • Drive efficient data recording and monitoring on all student progress information (completions, withdrawals, competent, not yet competent) into the Learning Management System
  • Check and monitor workforce competence to ensure all compulsory trainings remain current
  • Manage the collection and recording of training data from all business units to enable completion of monthly L&D reports
  • Manage relationship with Registered Training Organisations (RTO) including but not limited to coordinating student enrolment process (e

g:
tuition fees, federal government apprenticeship/ traineeship contracts), providing reporting on student progress, completions and withdrawals where required, and submit all relevant accredited training documentation

  • Liaise with the Department of Employment, Education and Workplace Relations to complete training contracts and access federal government apprenticeship/traineeship funding
  • Provide administrative support as required including managing invoices, purchase orders, study assistance and training requests, external training and booking requests for training.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external providers of training and assessment services
  • Provide professional and customer focused L&D support service to internal business units
  • Review and evaluate L&D initiatives ensuring that the quality, accuracy and relevance of these are maintained
  • Identify and recommend continuous business processes improvements initiatives to enhance the L & D function and business performance

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources or, professional experience and/or qualification deemed to be equivalent
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment is required
  • Previous work experience working in a similar position ideally within a safety regulated or heavy industry environment, (experience in Transport industry /Bus operations would be highly regarded)
  • Experience with coordination of accredited training and assessments
  • Demonstrated experience in a role that demands selfmotivation, robust resilience and requires driving the delivery of excellence
  • Working experience within a VETcompliant environment with associated reporting and auditing activity
