We are now looking for a highly skilled and experienced Executive Officer to lead the Social Policy and Intergovernmental (SPIR) group in delivering the Victorian Government's ground-breaking work with the state's intergovernmental relations.

We are now looking for a highly skilled and experienced Executive Officer to lead the Social Policy and Intergovernmental (SPIR) group in delivering the Victorian Government's ground-breaking work with the state's intergovernmental relations.


The SPIR group is responsible for providing policy advice on all social policy matters including health, mental health, education, skills, justice, community security and emergency management, social recovery, families, fairness, and housing reform.

The group leads oversight and coordination of intergovernmental advice and supports the Office of Family Violence Reform Implementation Monitor.


As the Deputy Secretary, you will be part of DPC's senior leadership team and Board of Management, leading and managing the SPIR group to ensure efficient and effective performance of its functions in accordance with DPC's Corporate Plan.

You will oversee and monitor policy implementation, program management, major transactions and community engagement across the responsibilities of the Group.

You will also identify emerging policy implementation issues facing the Government and provide advice on the implications as well as innovative practical solutions.


About you

  • Experience as a seasoned leader at an executive level within government
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and relationshipmanagement skills
  • Proven conceptual and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects
  • Effective people management skills
Please note that a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential for this role.
