As a result of organic growth and expansion, they are actively seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their growing team on a permanent full-time basis.
The Position
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the management of the Manufacturing plants maintenance function and programs.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will leverage your past supervisory experience, creativity and sound judgment to plan and accomplish company and team goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the role include:
- Coaching and counselling employees about maintenance, and initiating discipline as required.
- Evaluating the performance of subordinates.
- Developing and implementing preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Identify, research, and resolve problems.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the operating departments requirements.
- Leading employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
- Perform regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings.
- Develop, implement, and supervise the plant's Preventive Maintenance program.
- Repair machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets by diagrams, operating manuals, manufacturing specifications, or by management request.
- Ordering of supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates.
- Maintaining records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy.
- Preparing necessary reports, adhering to safety protocols, and fulfilling additional duties as needed.
- Trade qualification in a relevant field (e.g. fitter or maintenance engineer) is highly desirable.
- Have the ability to handle responsibility and be accountable for actions/decisions.
- Able to identify and implement safe working conditions.
- Skilled in task organisation, deadline management, and maintaining composure when working under pressure.
- Ability to understand basic math and numbers, and use a computer, calculator and telephone.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and write basic English.
- Ability to multitask, good attention to detail & strong problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision when required, as well as having the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Goaloriented, punctual, and dedicated to improving productivity and safety measures.
