About the role


This position plays a vital role in assisting with dental care delivery, including preparing treatment rooms, managing instruments, supporting patients during procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The role also involves educating patients on oral hygiene practices and postoperative care instructions, as well as encouraging positive oral health habits through approved educational materials.

Duties

  • Provide high-quality chair-side assistance following best practices.
  • Maintain quality control of dental equipment.
  • Adhere to professional standards and legislative requirements.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to quality management through established systems.
  • Foster a positive work environment that aligns with organizational values.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement processes to enhance service efficiency.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships to support staff development and collaboration.

Skills and Experiences:


Essential:

Hold a Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to achieve targets and performance goals
Experience in implementing continuous improvement strategies
Strong listening, influencing, and persuasive communication skills.
Valid Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain one.


Desirable, but not mandatory:

Prior experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
