About the role:


We're looking for an exceptional National Safety Governance Manager to join our Coles Express team and design, develop and facilitate the implementation of Health & Safety standards designed to underpin National Coles Express H&S Governance processes.


You'll work in a great team environment with a safety first culture and be responsible for managing the Coles Express SafetyCare system to ensure we maintain our self-insurance licences across all state jurisdictions.


You'll also:

  • Monitor legislative / regulatory updates and review potential impacts and updates required to maintain business operational compliance
  • Deliver H&S Governance standards and audit processes which are simple to understand, readily available and focus on improvement
  • Ensure ongoing maintenance of various Site Information documents and databases required as part of the Licensing process, as per each relevant State or Territory Legislation
  • Ensure Environmental Incidents, which meet the criteria specified under legislation are reported to the relevant Regulator within the required timeframes, followed up and closed out to the satisfaction of all parties
  • Work crossfunctionally to deliver on the Coles Express national operations strategy and ensure information is shared across the team

About you and your skills:


You will have tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety, environmental or system management, and / or several years' leadership experience in a safety role.


You'll also have:

  • Ability to deliver simple and effective integrated safety management systems
  • An understanding of, or extensive experience in a selfinsurance environment will be highly regarded
  • Experience in safety management systems and their implementation at a national level
- a natural, proven manager with the ability to coach teams and leaders to deliver behaviour change
- exceptional stakeholder management and highly developed influencing skills with the ability to build trusting relationships and have the highest calibre of communication skills
- meticulous planning and organisational skills to manage implementation of strategies
- a demonstrated ability to provide relevant and insightful analysis and reporting to help drive and influence the business
