Job description: - An opportunity is available for an Obstetrics & Gynaecology BASIC TRAINEE (previously advertised as Senior Resident Medical Officer
- SRMO) at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
An opportunity is available for an Obstetrics & Gynaecology _BASIC TRAINEE_ (_previously advertised_ _as Senior Resident Medical Officer - SRMO_) at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
The _Basic Trainee_ will work on the resident roster however will be expected to fill a registrar role if there is a gap due to unexpected leave in the registrar roster.
The _Basic Trainee_ will be rostered to allow the appropriate clinical experience to enable the step up the senior position as required and to develop a degree of independent practice.
The successful applicant will be expected to compile the resident roster with consultant assistance, manage leave and encourage participation of residents in educational and unit activities.
The _Basic Trainee_ will be expected the meet with new residents at the beginning of rotation and to meet regularly with the O&G resident cohort.
Salary:
$131,000 per annum

Fixed term, full time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight commencing 3 February 2025 until 2 February 202- Applicants should note that, for a period of a twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Essential Requirements:
- Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer of any new criminal convictions and/or if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered._
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‐employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
The following checks are to be conducted:
Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) Crimes of Violence
c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check
Desirable Requirements:
- Preferable 6 months of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
