Position Information:

Putney Public School has an enrolment of 450 students with approximately 30% being from a non-English speaking background. The school has a dedicated staff and supportive community, offering a quality learning environment that caters for all students.

Our staff work collaboratively to create a culture of continuous improvement, resulting in increased student learning outcomes, engagement and wellbeing.

Whole school priorities include embedding evidence-based best practice for literacy and numeracy, formative assessment, Visible Learning and Explicit Direct Instruction into classrooms.

We strive to incorporate technology into all learning areas to enrich and differentiate learning experiences for our students. We provide a wide of extra-curricular activities and student leadership opportunities.


Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Approval to teach infants and/or primary with proven capacity to work proactively as part of a dynamic leadership team and the ability to effectively balance the dual roles of an exemplary teacher with the complex responsibilities of an Assistant Principal.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deliver and evaluate professional learning that reflects school and system priorities and an outstanding knowledge of an experience in implementing what works best in schools while fostering a whole school culture of lifelong learning.
  • Deep understanding of and capacity to facilitate and lead datadriven decision making, including monitoring and evaluating school initiatives, to ensure the continuous improvement of student outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
  • Exceptional organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to connect, engage and inspire staff by building their capacity through positive, inclusive and authentic relationships promoting reflective practices and high expectations.
  • Proven capacity to enhance whole school student wellbeing, engagement and agency through proactive behaviour management strategies and fostering productive relationships between staff, students, parents and the community.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
Conditions:

This is a permanent part-time position for three days per week 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
