About the Role

Centurion is currently looking for a Claims Specialist to support the Legal Manager and Legal Counsel facilitating the timely and commercial resolution of claims on an end-to-end basis.

This is a full-time role based at our Head Office in Hazelmere.

Key Accountabilities

Assisting the Legal Department in:

Coordinating and gathering information from stakeholders to effectively manage a portfolio of claims from inception through to finalisation;
The negotiation of claims and disputes with Customers and other external parties;
Providing accurate and detailed claims reporting;
Identifying trends in claims and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and decrease costs;
Managing inhouse cost recoveries against third parties;
Ensuring adherence to claims policies and procedures; and
Drafting settlement documents;
Provide practical, timely claims advice to all areas of the business at Centurion.
Liaising with various stakeholders (insurers, brokers, loss adjusters, customers, suppliers) to ensure the claims process is managed effectively.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Key Capabilities/Technical Competencies

2+ years' experience in the general insurance industry, ideally in a role handling liability claims.
Demonstrated experience in endtoend claims management.
Tertiary qualifications and/or ANZIIF qualifications are highly regarded but not essential.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to collaborate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
Strong planning and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Welldeveloped proficiency interpreting contracts, insurance policy documents, and legislation.
Broad insurance and technical knowledge.
