The program manager - Victims Assistance (VAP) and Outreach is an integral member of the leadership group within DPV and within the Mental Health, Family and Community Directorate.

This role provides both strategic and operational leadership to VAP Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies, and Homelessness.


The incumbent uses their knowledge of trauma informed care and recovery to ensure the provision of high-quality therapeutic interventions that target improved wellbeing, enhanced functioning and empowerment.

The incumbent uses their clinical knowledge/expertise of homeless sector along with their understanding of case management to provide guidance and support to staff


With a strong focus on teamwork, program implementation, system improvement and business development, the program manager is well supported by a dedicated group of team leaders who are accountable for daily operations.


You will be responsible for leading improvements in team integration, elimination of duplication/waste, outcome measurement reform, learning and growth of staff as well as contributing to the successful delivery of directorate key performance indicators.

Desired Skills and Experience:


Qualifications:

  • Social Workers:
An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

  • Occupational Therapists:
  • Registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • An approved Degree from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy or other qualifications approved for eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy (Vic.).
  • Psychologist
  • Registration under the Australian Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act with the Psychology Board of Australia. General registration with a clinical psychology practice endorsement.
  • Psychiatric Nurse
  • Registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
