The Practice Support Officer will provide a broad range of administrative, practice and project support to the Secure Services Support team and its stakeholders.


The Practice Support Officer's key responsibilities are:

  • Coordinate the administrative functions of the team as requested by the Manager and Director.
  • Contribute to the coordination of operational policy and procedure updates relating to youth detention service delivery.
  • Contribute to the coordination, development and implementation of projects and recommendations relevant to youth detention service delivery.
  • Liaise and consult with team members and stakeholders in relation to activities and projects relating to the provision of youth detention service delivery.
  • Identify, analyse and respond to enquiries regarding operational policies, procedures and projects relating to youth detention service delivery.
  • Prepare and compile advice on a range of matters, including reports, briefings and ministerial correspondence.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance measures, reporting frameworks and strategies that meet the needs of the department and relevant oversight agencies.
  • Provide support to the Manager and the Director in relation to their roles on various committees.
