Reporting to the Head of Strategic Projects, within the Transformation Management Office (TMO), in your Program Manager role will be accountable for successful program delivery and have responsibility across all aspects of the assigned transformational program (new key strategic program for MMS) including budget, governance, management of partner relationships, establishing key strategic stakeholders across all parts of MMSG to drive the implementation and integration of programs at the operational level.

This is a 12-month hybrid full-limited tenure role that can be based out of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. If based outside of Melbourne, some ad-hoc travel to Melbourne will be required throughout the duration of the project.

The Role

  • Work with the Program Sponsor to finalise the program planning and funding requests.
  • Plan and design the program and proactively monitor its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Capture the highlevel program requirements and establish a functional blueprint.
  • Initiate and oversee the technology search, vendor selection, solution assessment and recommendation.
  • Identify and standup the necessary capabilities in order to deliver against the agreed plan.
  • Coordinate the programs scope and management of their interdependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.
  • Define the program's governance arrangements, aligned to the TMO governance framework.
  • Lead and direct the program, ensure delivery on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. Taking ownership and accountability for the program through to completion.
  • Manage the team plan, schedule, implement, monitor, and report on activities related to the program to ensure that the Future of Service, contributes to the overall achievement of the business' objectives.
  • Build relationships and work in close partnership with key stakeholders, including consultants, program & project teams, to negotiate, support and inform on changes impacting on business processes.
  • Implement a communication strategy spanning the program team and is stakeholders.
  • Manage all 3rd party contributions to the program.
  • Make key decisions and prioritise work to align the program with the MMS strategy. Demonstrate progress against the strategic goals and key program milestones.
  • Coordinate any new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.
  • Work with the broader TMO, managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects, within and outside the program.
  • Manage the program's budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the program progresses.
  • Ensure quality of delivery, the associated products or services, on time and within budget, in accordance with the program plan and program governance arrangements.
  • Manage all risks to the program's successful delivery.
  • Work with the business change manager on the transition to the new business and the BAU end state.
  • Report the progress of the program at regular intervals to the TMO and governance committees program director if this role is also defined.

You will bring:

  • 5 years of Program Manager experience in leading large scale transformational programs and implementing teams (which would include external & internal delivery partners).
  • Proven knowledge and expertise in Project Management and methodologies
  • Digital and technology understanding and capability essential
  • Demonstrated ability to present and communicate complex transformational updates to all levels within an organisation
  • Financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities
  • Qualified in program and project management methods such as PRINCE2 or a similar methodology
