About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join BOQ Group (which includes Bank of Queensland, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank) as a Third Party and Operational Risk Partner during our digital transformation journey on a permanent basis.

By joining the digital bank of the future, you will be able to make a difference with integrity and empathy by supporting our third party and operational risk management activities, adding significant value to our organisation.

With exciting projects currently underway, you will be a key contributor to unique business development and change across the BOQ Group.

As a Third Party and Operational Risk Partner you will support line 1 operational risk for Procurement and Property Business Unit that form part of Group Technology.

You will focus on the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) within our Group Technology division, such as control self-assessments, risk events and incident management, key risk indicators (KRI's), issue management and risk in change.

Leading the third-party risk management capability for Group Technology, you will execute risk requirements detailed in the outsourcing and procurement policies, further developing a third-party risk maturity roadmap spanning across people, process, policy/framework and systems.

This will require you to bring a commercial and pragmatic lens to managing operational and third-party risks, where you will also provide guidance on risk acceptance and the design of remediation plans while balancing risk and reward, board risk appetite and compliance requirements.

This extends to regulatory, external and internal audit issues.

Reporting to the Head of Technology risk, you will be pivotal in the leadership and delivery of operational and third-party risk awareness, where you will lead training sessions and initiatives within Group Technology.

This is a challenging and exciting role with a wide range of opportunities to help you take your career to the next level, where your development is our focus.

BOQ Group has invested heavily in cutting-edge tools to respond to the dynamic global risk landscape and to support our business' long-term objectives, where you not only get to leverage these, but will become an all-rounded top tier professional within operational and third-party risk.

About you

As an experienced technology risk professional, you will be a collaborative people and outcome focussed professional who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment.

You enjoy proactively communicating with a business, such as to executive members, to provide expert advice on how to improve and maintain processes or increase understanding of project impacts.

Having extensive knowledge and proven experience of operational and third-party risk management frameworks and supporting standards, processes and practice, you will have a solid understanding of basic IT government frameworks (such as COBIT).

You will also have a detailed understanding of APRA Prudential Standards (such as CPS220, CPS231, CPS232 and CPS234).

Collaboration and partnership come naturally to you, where you participate in and promote cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through knowledge sharing and partnership.

Working for us is energetic and fast-paced, and we need top talent to take us where we want to go.

BOQ Group people are easy to spot. They're smart, enthusiastic, full of ideas and passionate about what they do. If this sounds like you and you're looking to join a brand on the forefront of financial services security, we'd love to have a conversation
