The Opportunity


Insitu Pacfic is currently searching for a Flight Operations Team Lead to manage and a small team of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Pilots and Maintainers that conduct RPAS flight operations for Insitu Pacific's customers and internal projects.


Responsibilities
Lead a team of RPAS Pilots and Maintainers, ensuring roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities are clear and defined, in order to successfully carry out the following;

  • Maintenance release ensuring servicabilityof RPA for flight operations.
  • Operational maintenance activities in order to meet aircraft serviceability requirements to support flight operations.
  • Flight authorisation in order to conduct safe flight operations for domestic and international trials, demonstrations, test flights and standard flights.
  • RPAS Pilot activities and responsibilities in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Regulations, other international Civil Aviation Authorities and Insitu Pacific's Remote Operator's Certificate.
  • Management and coordination of logistic activities including scheduling, spares management, freight/carrier coordination, creating/maintaining/input to project documentation and plans, assisting with Flight Operations Management.

Experience/Qualifications

To be successful in this role:

  • Remote Pilot's Licence (RePL) Aeroplane
  • RPAS Maintenance qualification on an Aeroplane RPAS platform.
  • A minimum of 12 months experience as an RPAS Pilot and Maintainer
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Ability to deploy and operate in remote national and international (potentially hazardous) locations for periods of up to three (3) months. Environments may exhibit extreme hot or cold conditions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft performance characteristics; navigation procedures; instruments, flight controls, flight planning, test flights.
  • Manual transmission C class vehicle license.
  • Australia citizenship to meet Australian Defence security requirements.
