The role:

An FIFO opportunity in Queensland for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join a new open cut mine site, which is in the development stages.

Be part of the Environmental team who are responsible for undertaking a range of important responsibilities to meet the sites Environmental targets.

Environmental Advisor (Mining)


Location:

QLD

Salary:
$120,000 - $140,000 + Super

Roster: 8:6 FIFO from within
QLD

Company:
Relatively new mining resources company

Reports to:
Environment & Community Operations Manager

Team size: 10 in total currently, will expand as mine progresses

The mine site:
Development site, pre-construction of mine infrastructure


Key Accountabilities:


  • Coordinate all environmental monitoring activities
  • Sample collection and dispatch to laboratories
  • Statistical analysis of environmental data
  • Maintenance of monitoring equipment
  • Environmental inspections and reports
  • Assist with environmental incident investigations
  • Collate data for regulators, consultants and other stakeholders
  • Internal and external reports
  • Site rehabilitation planning
  • Conduct environmental training to site team as required
  • Assist with permitting as required
  • Mentor environment trainees

Must haves:


  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental field
  • 35 years experience in mining operational role
  • Understanding of
    QLD mining legislation
  • GIS mapping
  • Risk assessments and hazard identification
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Confident in stakeholder engagement
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Strong time management
  • Driver's "C" Class License valid in
    QLD
