Position Purpose:


The Fundraising Coordinator is a talented and highly motivated professional, responsible for meeting an annual revenue target by working with an assigned portfolio of events.

This role is part of the Fundraising Team and leads fitness events and supports individual giving. This includes fitness events, peer-to-peer fundraising events and community fundraising activities. Additionally, the role coordinates key elements of Cure Cancer's annual signature fundraising event - The World's Biggest BYO.

The Fundraising Coordinator reports into the Fundraising Manager. This full-time, permanent support position is based in Cure Cancer's Sydney CBD office.

This position works with staff, interns and volunteers to assist with planning, coordinating and implementing events designed to raise funds and promote community awareness of Cure Cancer programs and services.

The Fundraising Coordinator, is responsible for every aspect of event planning.

The main duties include venue management, fulfilling the charity partner asset requirements, calling fundraisers, sending welcome packs, working with ambassadors, determining the costs and pulling together a budget, arranging event services, monitoring the approval of marketing and communication materials, and evaluating success afterward.


Position Key Result Areas:


Revenue Generation:


  • Contribute to the annual income and expenditure targets
  • Increase revenue from existing events to ensure growth from individual, corporate and community fundraising activities
  • Coordinate the preparation of presentations and proposals (including grants, partnership, table sales, prizes, volunteers, etc) for the signature events and written submissions to secure funding
  • Manages fitness fundraising events, including preparation, bumpin, event execution and bumpout.
  • Assists with planning, implementation, and production of all fundraising events including supplier relationships, budgets, and event logistics. May coordinate activities related to event program. Coordinates work with external and internal audiences including event organizers and donors.

Event Material:


  • Works with Communications and Marketing to develop materials related to events including external communications, printed event materials
  • Provides support to the Fundraising Manager and Head of Fundraising to help secure partners, participants and volunteers
  • Maintains spreadsheets of all event timelines, key milestones and deadlines.

Experience & Qualifications:


Essential:


  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of event experience preferred, or fundraising, or corporate. Sales experience may be substituted for fundraising experience. Progressive experience in development programs and knowledge of "best practices" in events and fundraising.
  • Demonstrated experience in events, or equivalent in project management.

Desirable:


  • Education: Events degree is highly desirable

Skills & Technical Expertise:


Essential:


  • Knowledge of office systems: MS-Office preferred and fundraising database systems (e.g. Salesforce, Smartsheets)
  • Donorcentric
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Event delivery

Desirable:


  • CRM database experience
  • Understanding of target audience segmentation
