The Opportunity
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UNSW has an opportunity for a Centre Manager for the Water Research Centre (WRC).
You will be responsible for the efficient and effective functioning of all operational aspects of the WRC.This includes high level management support, contract management with funding bodies and partner organisations, communication with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring and reporting of research objectives and progress for all Centre-funded projects, management of applicable Human Resources (HR) and Work, Health and Safety (WHS) activity (in consultation with faculty representatives), as well as budgeting and financial management.
This role reports to the Centre Director of WRC and has no direct reports.- Salary, Level 7: $100,331 to $108,588 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience
- Degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education training and/or experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Sound consultation and influencing skills and proven ability to interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project management experience and resource planning.
- Ability to manage contracts and subcontracts in a research context and the ability to manage professional relationships from a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Sound budgeting and accounting skills including exposure in the preparation, monitoring and analysis of budgets and accounting processes with demonstrated initiative and sound analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrated organisational prioritisation skills and ability to liaise with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
