About You/ Role


Our Health, Safety and Staff Wellbeing team who shapes and leads our health, safety across the department by delivering services and support to our schools and workplaces by creating safe working and learning environments.


The Health, Safety and Staff Wellbeing team are rapidly growing with newly created Staff Wellbeing Officer positions we are currently recruiting across Sydney As a Staff Wellbeing Officer, you will provide proactive services to schools and direct support to staff to strengthen mentally healthy workplaces within schools and workplaces.


  • Promote effective strategies and programs to build the capability of staff in our schools and workplaces.
  • Implement programs and initiatives to enhance staff wellbeing across the department.
  • Provide ongoing support to staff and schools through endtoend case management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with school leadership teams and key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

  • The ability to remain resilient and composed in highpressure and rapidly changing situations.
  • Show drive and motivation, an ability to selfreflect and a commitment to learning.
  • Strong communication skills being able to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work collaboratively and be supportive in a team environment.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of programs and strategies to enhance staff wellbeing and mentally healthy workplaces.
  • Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of programs and strategies to enhance staff wellbeing in schools.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • NSW Driver License and willingness to drive.
