Job Description:


At NINE, Studio Automation Coordinators work flexibly across three main on-air roles of Pilot, Co-Pilot and Floor Technician to produce content using Viz Mosart Studio Automation software and techniques.

The role requires a high level of knowledge for all technical aspects and roles of a traditional TV production.


Programs include, but are not limited to, News, Current Affairs, Rolling Coverage and Magazine-style Shows for various content and platforms.

These programs may be either transmitted live, recorded as live, or prerecorded in any multi camera environment, in studios or during outside broadcasts.


  • This role is shift based which will also include weekends and public holidays._

Day to day you will:

  • Provide the function of Pilot, Co-Pilot and Floor Technician as needed
  • Pilots are responsible for the Viz Mosart control and resulting final look & sound of a production and its technical standards
  • Co-Pilots assist the Pilot/Producer in the control room and communicate information to other production crew and stakeholders. Co-Pilots can assist the Pilot in any technical aspects of production, notably camera operation
  • Floor Technicians are the sole production staff member on the studio floor to assist with audio hardware and are the key contacts between the control room and talent

Qualifications:

Essential experience & skills

  • A broad knowledge of all areas in television news production
  • Previous Mosart experience
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised with high attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, tight deadlines and high pressure situations to suit business needs in a professional manner to ensure the consistency of the onair product
  • Experience with ENPS
  • High level of computer literacy
