Opportunity

Great long term federal contract with initial 12 months on offer and a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 from home).

Located in either Hobart, Launceston or Devonport.
APS5 level paying $53.63 per hour + Super.


Team

The Co-Design and Engagement Branch is responsible for developing an Engagement Framework which will describe the differences between co-design, consultation and information engagement.

Co-Design engagement is planned and managed with input from the Co-Design Advisory Group, which has members of the Independent Advisory Council (IAC) and Disability and Carer Representative Organisations (DRCOs).


Duties

  • Educating, informing and liaising with mainstream services to improve participant experience and increase participant social and economic participation.
  • Maintaining local relationships with relevant key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
  • Working as part of a high performing team to effectively engage with people with disability, their families and carers using a nationally consistent engagement approach.
  • Representing the NDIA at external forums and events, providing information and guidance to people with disability, NDIS participants and the wider community.
  • Delivering clear, concise and effective messaging to people with disability, their families and carers as well as other community and mainstream stakeholders.
  • Managing the state engagement inbox, acting as a point of escalation for the triaging of enquiries and requests.

Skills and Experience

  • Public speaking is a key requirement of this role
  • Intrastate and interstate travel including overnight, and multiple days will be required
  • There may be some weekend and after business hours work
  • Emotional intelligence in working with stakeholders
  • Experience of living with disability desirable
  • Please note, Australian Citizenship is mandatory for this Commonwealth government client.
