We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to work within a supportive mental health multi-disciplinary team at the Children's Hospital at Westmead.

This is a full-time permanent Level 3 position in the Consultation Liaison Team (CLT) in the Department of Psychological Medicine.

What you'll be doing

The social worker will provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients referred to the CLT from different medical teams within the hospital.

The role offers the opportunity to provide short term and longer term therapeutic interventions, access to family therapy and social work supervision, generous professional development opportunities, a variety in clinical complexity and presentation, a supportive and encouraging environment to further develop clinical skills.

This is an ideal role for social workers wanting to work towards their mental health accreditation (as the role includes providing focused psychological strategies).

The social worker will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching, research and quality improvement activities.

After hours on call work is not part of the role, however social workers can choose to join the on-call roster for the Social Work department and/ or the Child Protection Unit.
