We are seeking a capable and motivated Area Manager on a Full-time basis to support the team at Parklea Correctional Centre.

About the Role

The Area Manager is accountable for ensuring that the daily operations of Areas runs smoothly and any risk to this promptly addressed.

This role liaises with multiple internal stakeholders, ensuring service delivery outcomes are achieved.
The Area Manager brings strong leadership qualities and the ability to lead, motivate and influence staff.

This individual is outcomes and solutions focused, and adept at dealing appropriately with unpredictable and challenging behaviour without compromising sensitivity to the needs of inmates.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake activities as required by the Search Strategy and Search Matrix, which will be developed for each area and will vary according to the level of risk presented by each area
Ensure the provision of sufficient resources to enable required security, supervision, monitoring and checks to be undertaken, in line with the MTC-Australia safety and security framework
Observe, supervise and assess inmate activities and behaviour, monitoring and responding to unsafe, noncompliant and atrisk behaviours to maximise safety and security and minimise incidents
Document and report inmate behaviour and intelligence information through appropriate systems and channels
Provide direct oversight and management of responses to incidents, events and issues.

Mandatory requirements:

Ability to gain and retain all the police/security clearances required within our industry
Ability to pass any required health assessments
Ability to visit and work within a correctional
Proven right to work in Australia
Be prepared to undergo alcohol and other drug testing as required.
