CIMIC Group Limited is the parent of our various Operating Companies.

CIMIC sets the strategic direction, financial expectations, risk profile and governance framework for the CIMIC Group and monitors the performance of its Operating Companies (CPB Contractors, Sedgman, UGL, Pacific Partnerships and EIC Activities).


Overview


The primary purpose of this role is to work with the sustainability, procurement and controls functions across the CIMIC group to deliver sustainability objectives; including managing development of sustainability processes and systems to deliver best practice and efficient innovative outcomes.


  • Coordination with relevant functions across the three pillars of Environmental, Social and Governance.
  • Assist with the ongoing coordination with our operating companies; refinement, review, setting of KPIs and monitoring and refining the Group plans to Net Zero.
  • Review data requirements for Australia and Overseas ACS Group Companies for tracking both internal targets and statutory ESG requirements and targets.
  • Working with the ICT team in the development and implementation efficient automated reporting
  • Review opportunities for use of the groups digital solutions to improve the efficiency of the collection of data to monitor emissions and the groups achievement of targets.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Contribute to the achievement of business strategic objectives, targets, and reporting.
  • Support the development of internal and external sustainability awareness and industry capacity building.
  • Implement initiatives that identify CIMIC Contractors as a leader in Sustainability.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Hold management team to account for project sustainability performance standards.
  • Demonstrate personal contribution to the business sustainability strategy and associated commitments.
  • Provide leadership consistent with CIMIC sustainability management compliance obligations and strategies.
  • Create a culture that encourages innovation and adoption of best practice sustainability initiatives.
  • Effective delegation & motivating teams.
  • Effective decision making, interpersonal and consultation skills.
  • Effective negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Valuing and promoting diversity & inclusion.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching and mentoring to the senior management personnel.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry bodies.
  • Interact with site employees to maintain support and awareness of sustainability.
  • Foster client relationships from a business and technical perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.
  • Deliver or participate in various projects across the Group as and when the need arises.

Education and Qualifications required for this role:

  • Relevant degree in Sustainability, Architecture, Engineering or Science or post graduate qualification in Sustainability.

Experience, Skills and Behavioural Competencies required for this role:

  • 7+ years' experience managing sustainability within the construction industry.
  • Understanding of relevant sustainability legislation and guidelines.
  • Detailed knowledge of Sustainability management techniques and tools.
  • Detailed knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures.
  • Effective Risk and Opportunity Management.
  • Understanding of market trends including sourcing, risk and legislation changes.
  • Ability to develop, manage and review a Sustainability Management System.
  • High level of skill in facilitating positive outcomes and preparedness to push boundaries and innovate.
  • High level of skill in presenting to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • High level of skill in time management including planning and prioritising work.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and conflicts with other work streams/functions.
