Our clients company was created to bring to life a portfolio of projects ensuring sustainable sources of energy, developing rural communities, spreading state of the art renewable technologies, and helping to prevent weather changes resulting by greenhouse gas emissions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety compliance programs
- Undertaking audits and inspections in site and office environments
- Participate in Health and Safety (AS/NZ 4801 / HSEAS and Environmental (ISO14001) certification process.
- Traveling Interstate to our facilities
- Organising and coordinating safety activities with our contractors
- Attending Safety prestart meetings and deliver took box talks
- Conducting Incident investigation and management including reporting and action follow up
- Working with site and office teams ensuring compliance to current WHS legislation
- Maintaining accurate records and data utilising company systems
- Developing safety awareness training sessions for employees & contractors on topics such as safe working procedures, hazardous materials, and accident prevention techniques
- Communicating with other departments within the company regarding safety issues that may affect them
- Participate in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses
- Performing risk assessments to determine the potential for accidents or injuries in specific activities or work settings, develop strategies to prevent them from occurring
- Advising managers about effective ways to manage their teams in a safe manner
- Reviewing employee injury reports and identifying any recurring problems or hazards that may need to be addressed by engineering or administrative staff members
- Cert 4 WHS, preferably a Diploma WHS
- 35 years experience in a related industry, in a health and safety role
- Incident investigation in a recognised methodology(ICAM/Taproot etc)
- White card
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A high level of critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A high level of computer skills
- A high level of organisational skills
- A passion for continual improvement of Health and Safety performance
- Ability to lead and motivate on site teams in Health and Safety
- Auditor qualifications are highly desirable
