Novalith has developed and patented a novel technology to produce lithium chemicals more cost effectively and more sustainably than conventional extraction and refining processes. Headquartered in Sydney, Novalith is backed by leading venture capital funds and the team has grown significantly in the last 12 months.
Critical to the success of Novalith's next stage of growth will be converting the relationships already established with upstream and downstream market participants, across the global lithium market, into bankable commercial arrangements. Through our innovations and development, we're creating a sustainable future in the resource sector.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and executing new business opportunities that support Novalith's goals and objectives. Ideally, you will have a deep understanding of the lithium industry and can effectively communicate Novalith's value proposition to prospective partners.
Key Responsibilities Include
Proactively managing and converting a pipeline of opportunities to revenue-generating commercial arrangements.
Identifying and building relationships with stakeholders across the global supply chain, including mining companies, mid-stream processors and cathode, battery & electric vehicle manufacturers.
Conducting market research and analysis to assess potential opportunities using third party commodity pricing data, forecasts and other insights (e.g. BMI, Fastmarkets etc).
Negotiating commercial contracts such as Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and technology license agreements, as required.
Collaborating with the executive and internal teams including R&D, Engineering, Finance and Legal on market entry, pricing and product development strategies.
Representing Novalith at conferences, speaking at industry events and maintaining a social media presence to keep up to date on industry trends and regulations.
Identifying other sources of commercial support for Novalith, including relevant grant programs, tax regimes, rebates etc.
Ideal Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business or related technical field e.g. Engineering, Geology, Science.
Proven track record (5+ years) in business development or sales.
Deep knowledge of the Lithium industry and global market trends is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Skilled in preparing executive and board-level presentations and reports.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, with impeccable organizational and time management skills.
