Do what matters:


Financial Crime Analytics (FCA) is responsible for the maintenance of and enhancements to the Group's AML and Sanctions systems by way of data analytics, modelling and continual systems optimisation.

We are responsible for analysing financial crime data, implementing detection strategies which mitigate risk and prevent financial crime.

We support financial crime technology projects; this includes input into business requirements, solution design, and testing and change management.

On a day to day basis you will:

  • Build analytical solutions to improve risk based outcome of AML rules, build/maintain segmentation model, maintain risk coverage view, cover analytics requests and provide actionable insights etc.
  • Ability to analyse and recommend mitigating strategies to emerging trends within a short timeframe.
  • Actively detect and manage emerging events, ensuring strategies are implemented which effectively manage associated risk.
  • Use advanced analytics techniques ( statistical techniques and machine learning ) across large datasets to solve business challenges.
  • Make continual improvements to detection system rules to ensure effective detection.
  • Drive operational efficiencies through reducing false positive and making sure the associate risk is still covered.
  • Build effective working relationships within Group Operations and Risk Management.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Provide insights into trends and anomalies including root cause.

We are interested in hearing from people with:

  • Strong experience in using SQL, R, Python, SAS along with knowledge of best coding practices
  • Exposure with version control and modelling tools.
  • Ability to adapt and accept business concepts quickly
  • Experience in building analytical models to drive measurable business benefits
  • Experience with managing work relationships with business stakeholders.
