About the Role:


The Industrial Relations Team leads industrial relations strategy development and implementation for the department and holds the primary relationship with key unions and professional associations including implementation of the Department for Education enterprise agreements.


The Industrial Relations team also lead People and Culture policy development and review and the delivery of advice and consultancy services.


The Lead, Industrial Relations provides a high level of industrial relations discipline expertise and operational knowledge of departmental and government policies and guidelines, including managing complex, sensitive and critical industrial relations disputes.

The Lead, Industrial Relations also provides technical consultancy services/advice and undertakes complex projects which extend across directorates/agencies.

Under broad direction, the position takes responsibility for major programs, including enterprise bargaining outcomes, which are at state-wide level/of critical importance through the management of significant resources, and the evaluation of program results against stated objectives.

Desirable:
A qualification in Law, Human Resources or other relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage

Special Conditions:The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:

ASO8 $119, ,822 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
