The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state.

Duties


The Service Desk Officer contributes to the provision of IT infrastructure and user support services which support the business units of Department for Correctional Services (DCS).

The Service Desk Officer provides responsive and pro-active customer service and support for IT systems and services to a diverse range of users within agreed service standards, and provides a first point of contact for all enquiries and requests for assistance.

The Service Desk Officer will diagnose the nature of reported issues, and either resolve the issue immediately or escalate the issue to other support areas, within DCS or to external service providers.

The Service Desk Officer will also provide administrative services for the management of user accounts, IT hardware and software assets and other administrative tasks.


Special Conditions

  • Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements
  • The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
  • A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
  • A flexible approach to working hours is required.
  • You will be required to participate in a roster to provide after hours on call support services.
  • Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Requirements:

Desirable - Qualification/Certification in IT Service Management such as ITIL


Remuneration
ASO3 ($65,606 - $69,919pa)

There is more than one position available.


It is a requirement for any non-ongoing DCS employees to be fully vaccinated with a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved COVID-19 vaccination
