- Purpose
- The Performance DSV will support operations readiness and offshore execution of a 5well development drilling campaign. This is expected to be ~6 months for operations readiness, requiring a combination of onshore office and offshore wellsite periods to prepare for safe and efficient startup, followed by ~12 months execution phase at the wellsite to drill the 5 development wells from a moored semisubmersible.
- Offshore during drilling operations:
- The PDSV will be a senior Company Supervisor and integral member of the offshore operations team, reporting to the Lead DSV on the rig and the Well Operations Team lead in the office.
- The PDSV will be part of 3person Company supervisor team, working alongside the Lead DSV and Night DSV.
- The PDSV provides cover for the Lead or Night DSV in event of any absences and must be capable of independently supervising the operation.
- The PDSV will work closely with the Drilling Contractor Performance Lead to optimise planning of drilling operations.
- The PDSV will demonstrate a high commitment to HSSE and provide exemplary leadership on site to safely deliver the Well Programme.
During operations preparations phase:
- Rigbased periods: Company representation on the rig to drive ontime rig reactivation. Oversight of rig compliance and commissioning. Planning for safe and efficient commencement of drilling operations.
- Officebased periods: Support the onshore operations team in preparation for safe and efficient startup of the drilling campaign through preparation and review of critical documents.
- Accountabilities of the Performance Drilling Supervisor will include, but are not limited to:
- Accountability Area #1:
- Forward Focus: Responsible for optimizing forward planning
- Focus on 714 day window of upcoming operations. Work closely with Performance Lead to identify and implement improvement opportunities;
- Transfer of lessons learned into the plan
- BHA and derrick planning
- Deck optimisation
- Logistics optimisation
- Rig up improvements
- Waiting on Weather mitigation
- Prephase and risk reviews
- Rig upgrade projects
- KPI optimisation
- Use data & KPIs to drive performance discussions.
- Accountability Area #2:
- Reflective Learning: Implement and maintain a bestinclass reflective learning system
- Lead team's reflective learning efforts.
- Implement and maintain a bestinclass reflective learning system.
- Feed forward learnings into planning of next operation. Embed learnings into Work Instructions.
- Responsible for;
- AARs for every phase
- Maintain Lessons learned database
- Lessons learned action followup and closeout
- Work Instruction improvements for next operation
- Accountability Area #3:
- Communicate our Performance: Keep the wider rig team engaged and aware of our performance
- Working together with the Drilling Contractor's Performance Lead, coordinate Company's input to the weekly performance call.
- Communicate rig performance and performance opportunities to the crews.
- Keep the crews engaged and energized around performance. Encourage crew ideas and initiatives and support implementation of these.
- One of two Performance DSVs working backtoback on an eventime rota (21/21 or 28/28).
- Working day shift alongside Lead DSV
- Reporting to the Lead DSV on the rig and the Well Operations Team lead in the office.
- The PDSV will be part of 3person Company supervisor team, working with the Lead DSV and Night DSV.
- No direct reports, but will be expected to play a key role in development of the Wellsite Drilling Engineers.
- Leadership skills are required to influence and work closely with the drilling contractor and service partners.
- The ability to build effective relationships and resolve issues with drilling contractor and service partners. Ability to influence others outside of their reporting / contractual line.
- The following experience and qualifications would be an asset to the role (i.e.
- Offshore supervisory experience (>10 years preferred). Proven ability to independently supervise drilling operations, with significant experience on moored semi-sub rigs.

- Experience with rig upgrades and rig modifications
- Experience with Australian regulatory environment (NOPSEMA)
