Your next opportunity:


Boral Quarries are actively seeking a strategic & people focused Quarry Manager to oversee one of our premier sites based in West Burleigh.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead all functionalities of the Quarry, specifically focusing on P&L (experience), Cost Control, Processing Knowledge, Production Planning, Drill and Blast and the Customer experience.

The site has a typical output of 1.2 million tons per annum and a workforce of approximately 25 people and contractors.

You will play a key role in partnering with our internal stakeholders and the wider community to drive meaningful relationships.

Your well-developed commercial acumen will see to your success in identifying areas of cost efficiencies, growth and process improvements.


Your day will involve:


  • Promoting and enforcing safety and environmental processes and protocols to meet performance outcomes
  • Effective management of daily operations, delivering on agreed priorities of cost control and production in line with quality, budgeting and forecasts
  • Working with the Sales team to deliver the sites revenue expectations
  • People leadership hands on management of staff and contractors
  • Ensuring the site is in line with current licencing, consents and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to the strategic planning and execution of shortterm and longterm Capital Works and maintenance

What are we looking for?

  • Site Senior Executive (SSE) Ticket mor than 20 people
  • 5 years experience in mining or quarrying
  • Strong Knowledge of the Mining & Quarrying Safety & Health Act & Regs
  • Strong Knowledge of Pit planning, Slope Stability and Quarry Geotechnical Awareness
  • Strong Knowledge of hard rock quarrying and crushing processes
  • Ability to understand a P&L, plan and manage a budget.
  • Proven leadership experience in Quarrying Operations or Mining
  • Strong leadership attributes including initiative to identify, manage, and solve issues as they arise
  • Experience developing and managing budgets including controlling expenditure and costs will be highly regarded
  • Experience in LEAN Manufacturing will be highly regarded
  • Appropriate Quarry management qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications
