The Financial Crime team sits within Group Compliance and strives to protect our business and communities against financial crime threats.
The team utilises data and intelligence to detect, investigate and escalate potential financial crime related events as part of ANZ;s comprehensive management of Financial Crime risks and threats.
Risk is a critical function, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable ANZ to deliver its purpose.
The Manager, Intel & Dynamic Algorithms is critical to making this happen and will be responsible for development and delivery of dynamic algorithms and controls designed to identify instances of potentially criminal activity according to known red flag indicators.
This role will enhance capability for the wider Financial Crime Portfolio through the delivery and maintenance of DA tuning frameworks, indicator and list management, tools, and resources.
This role would suit an innovative and forward thinker who would like to join a team of high-performing SMEs focused on data and analytics.
Responsibilities include management of existing and expansion of ANZ's suite of financial crime detection controls to address new and emerging financial crime threats.
What a typical day might look likeLeadership of a team of intelligence SMEs responsible for development, testing and refinement of new/existing Dynamic Algorithms to meet specific risk indicators;
Develop and maintain Dynamic Algorithm support model, including post implementation review (PIR) frameworks, tuning, indicator list refinement and trigger reviews.
Liaise with the Coverage, wider Intelligence, Detection and Financial Crime Operational teams to understand requirements and project the alert quality/volume.
Provide SME input to ongoing uplift of the Intelligence assets within Financial Crime Intelligence,Make recommendations as necessary for strategy uplift and expansion and explore options to increase the scope of data ingestion to encompass additional sources required for control development.
Contribute to the Financial Crime automation agenda in line with project deliverables and make recommendations to uplift process capability to support industrialisation of Dynamic Algorithms and other controls.
Contribute to knowledge sharing among Financial Crime teams, in particular the Intelligence and Detection teams, to continually raise capability and deliver quality outcomes (both within Australia and globally).
What will likely be in your toolkit?Strong experience with Financial Crime systems, including large data repositories and intelligence assets, as well as experience with Financial Crime Typologies
Strong experience in SQL coding, analysis, and writing
Strong experience in a leadership role in a related area
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal
Experience working with regulators, law enforcement, and other industry partners.
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
