An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Health & Wellness Promoter Team Lead to join our Residential Care Team at Bucklands in North Plympton.
About the role
As the Health and Wellness Promoter Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent approach to our Residential Health and Wellness services at the site.
- Ensuring consistency of exercise programs and processes, staff induction, supervision, task delegation, reporting and accreditation requirements
- Taking the lead on early intervention process to identify and develop Recovery Pathways for residents at risk of decline and frailty
- Enabling residents to maximise independence, improve and maintain their health, wellness and quality of life
- Assessing, designing and delivering individually tailored exercise programs that are tailored to meet each resident's needs, goals and preferences
- Using best practice, evidence based tools to plan and deliver high quality health & wellness services with the emphasis on person centred care and healthy ageing through goal setting, progressive resistance training, health literacy
- Undertaking audits to ensure all Health & Wellness programs operate in accordance with Southern Cross Care procedures
About You
We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Fitness, Sport Science, Human Movement or Exercise Physiology
- Accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, Fitness Australia or Exercise and Sports Science Australia
- Demonstrated experience in delivery of progressive resistance programs with older people
- Experience in designing and implementing exercise programs for older people, including people living with cognitive impairment and frailty
- Sound understanding of healthy ageing and that physical function underpins the ability to remain engaged meaningfully in personally valued pursuits
- Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as the ability to maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail etc.) as well as inhouse databases
