An exciting opportunity for a Project Officer has become available working within a sought-after government department With a high rate and long contract length with potential to extend

Your Role:


As the Project Officer you will perform Project Management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects to support the department.


You will provide procurement and/or business expertise, including research skills and analytical support services, to inform procurement policy decision-making and strategy.


Your Duties:


  • You will provide a range of project management and support services, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology
  • You will work with procurement and business stakeholders to develop and implement procurement policy and strategies
  • You will conduct research to support the development and review of organisational procurement policy, procedures, systems and standards
  • You will prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes
  • You will source, collate and compile data and information to identify issues and track and report on project progress
  • You will undertake research to support informed decisionmaking and planning
  • You will work effectively with team members and stakeholders
**Your Desired Skills and Experience: - You will have experience working in project management, and demonstrated understanding of project methodologies, processes and procedures

  • Experience working on issues related to modern slavery or to sustainability, human rights and/or vulnerable populations, procurement and/or business and human rights preferable
  • Researching, drafting, writing and/or editorial experience
  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as human rights, economics, politics, social work, law, psychology, sociology or criminology, or equivalent level experience
