The Company:

Rosebank Engineering is a maintenance and manufacturing support provider of Aerospace Systems and components for Australian and other International Defence Forces.

The company combines engineering expertise with aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and; surface metal treatment and finishing in their capacity as a Part 145, DASR Part 21J, EASA Part 145, CASA Part 145, NADCAP, and AS9100D approved organisation.


The Bayswater facility is a precision engineering workshop (CNC Machining), supported by surface metal treatment (Electroplating) and finishing (Coatings), with NDT capabilities; in a modern, automated component production, repair & finishing facility.


Position Overview:


The position is responsible for company-wide purchasing / procurement, raising purchase requests / purchase orders on approved vendors, while adhering to the company's financial regulations.

This position is responsible for ensuring stock levels remain within documented guidelines (min/max levels), integrity of the data supplied during the procurement process and following up vendors that have not fulfilled their obligations.

This position is based at the Bayswater facility (Head Office) and reports to the Supply Chain Manager.


Key Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and act on daily reports from ERP
  • Raise purchase orders and purchase requests for goods and services from approved vendors
  • Liaise with vendors on requests for quotations (RFQ's) for supply of goods/services
  • Liaise with vendors on purchased goods / services delivery schedules
  • Manage forecast of required production materials
  • Ensure the accuracy of data recorded in Quantum for goods / services and expected delivery dates
  • Expedite priority buys
  • Process data entry within agreed time frames
  • Determine and maintain min/max at agreed levels
  • Assist in Identifying and managing end of life stock replenishment
  • Work with Inventory Planner to analyse demand for relevant parts and maintain level of agreed inventory per business line
  • Assist in populating Material Master data

Key Selection Criteria:


  • You
    MUST be an Australian Citizen OR born in a NATO Partner Country to be considered for this position
  • You
    MUST have the capacity to satisfy defence security screening processes and requirements
  • Ideally, possess formal Qualifications in Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management
  • Demonstrated experience in a purchasing role within a global supply chain e.g. aviation, defence, automotive
  • Ideally have previous access to
    MILIS and transactional experience
  • Have proven Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel experience
  • Previous experience in a defence purchasing role, manufacturing purchasing role, or equivalent industry is required
  • Proven local and international vendor management experience
  • Strong customer service capability and personality
  • Possess strong Negotiation skills with respect to purchasing/pricing contract arrangements
  • Possess well developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical individuals
  • Ability to plan with attention to detail, organisational/time management and follow through
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated drive, passion, positivity and commitment to achieve results
