The Payroll Officer will be part of the People Culture and Change Team (PCC) and work closely to support the Senior Payroll Officer in all activities relating to payroll and remuneration.
This includes timely and accurate processing of payroll on a fortnightly pay schedule, relevant superannuation reporting, accurate processing of employee changes and all leave types along with accurate maintenance of related data and systems.
This position can be part time for the right person, with an 8 day fortnight with flexibility on working from home and office.
You will deliver value through;
- Performing payroll transactions and maintenance functions as required, to ensure accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll in the Micro pay Payroll software system.
- Generating electronic payment files and interface with general ledger accounting system.
- Utilise knowledge of awards to check timesheets and calculate appropriate shift and other penalties.
- Performing monthly Superannuation processes.
- Responding to inquiries in a friendly and timely manner
- Collaborating with fellow PCC team members ensuring transparency and objectivity
- Develop and make recommendations to the continuous improvement of payroll policies and processes

You are an experienced payroll professional with a strong knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations, and legislation. You have meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, and can demonstrate an ability to work independently and problem solve. You thrive working in a fast-paced environment, can multitask and meet deadlines.

Criteria:
- Qualification in Human Payroll Services or equivalent Experience.
- Relevant experience in a Payroll and HR support role (2 years minimum).
- Evidence of COVID19 vaccination
- Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant awards and National Employment Standards, employment taxation and superannuation and any other relevant legislation.
