We are seeking an experienced, passionate and organized individual to lead our Workforce Planning team.

The location of this role can be based in either our
Sydney or Melbourne airport units
as Manager, Workforce Planning
on a 12-month fixed term
contract**.


More about this role:


Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Manager, Workforce Planning is responsible for leading and managing a team of Workforce Planners and Resource Allocators to develop and maintain the systems and tools that support workforce plans and rosters across all of our National operational units.


In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:

  • Streamline workforce planning systems and processes, ensuring they are adapted across multiple locations in Australia
  • Build on the analytics, modelling and strategy function including future scenario modelling and analysis of past events
  • Simplify, consolidate and improve functionality and efficiency of IT systems
  • Build the Workforce Planning capability of the business by developing and supporting the Workforce planning team
  • Leadership of the workforce planning function, contributing to a positive workplace culture that enables people to do their best
  • Ensure a consistent service offering and coverage to multiple locations
  • Stakeholder Engagement establishing relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business, including managers based in external locations
  • Change management, leading on analysis and improvements organisation wide
  • Lead the Catering workforce planning function to ensure manpower optimisation. Developing cost efficient, operational, effective and best practice manpower plans (rosters) to deliver to the demand requirements
  • Understanding the industrial instruments
  • Identifying opportunities to improve labour deployment hours and/or cost

What do you need to be successful in the role?

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Extensive experience in manpower forecasting and planning
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead successful teams
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills that can be used at all levels of an organisation
  • In depth understanding of industrial agreements
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and research skills
  • Experience with change management and business improvement in an operational environment
  • Understanding of planning and operational processes
  • Knowledge of financial and data modelling
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
