- Development and implementation of business plans and engagement pursuit strategies, preparation of proposals, and management of tender processes
- Leading the scoping of client needs, work planning and development of proposals, supported by the BDO team
- Continuing to develop the capacity and capabilities of the Transport Planning & Advisory team

- Experience in program & project management principles

- Experience in preparing and managing program and project controls including budget, schedule, risk, interface, quality, and stakeholder management
- Business development and bid, proposal, and tender management experience
- Experience in sizing engagements including scoping the skills & experience required, team structure, and pricing frameworks
- The ability to mentor and support others, and commitment to building capability within the BDO Team and its clients
- An excellent grasp of MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

About the team
The Project and Infrastructure Advisory team are industry leaders in the planning, development, and delivery of city and region shaping projects. Our team works with government and private clients across a range of sectors including transport, precincts, telecommunications, and regional economic development. With unprecedented expenditure in infrastructure and our track record in delivery our team needs to grow to continue to support our clients.
Our Transport Planning and Advisory team in Sydney supports our clients through a wide range of project development activities, from project and program establishment to assurance and approvals processes. The team is rapidly expanding and as a result we now have an opportunity for an experienced professional that can lead the management, development, and delivery of transport projects and programs from inception through to execution, with typical engagements including:

Current opportunity
We are currently searching for a Principal/Associate Transport Planner/Engineer to lead and deliver complex transport projects and programs and contribute to the continued growth of our business and people. This will include policy, strategy, and planning, business case, and project and program management roles and engagements – and often a combination of these services for our key clients. This is a full-time opportunity and will require a high level of professional autonomy focused on delivering outcomes for clients and building the capability of the BDO Transport Planning and Advisory team. You'll be considered an expert in this space.
You will be responsible for:
What you will need to succeed
The role will suit candidates with over 10 years' experience with tertiary qualifications in engineering, planning, economics, or other civil or social infrastructure specialisations. Transport project and program leadership, management, and business case qualifications and/or experience are also highly desirable. More specifically success in the role will require:
