About Apprenticeship Support Australia

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been the voice of business in WA for over a century and have been powering Apprenticeship Support Australia for over 20 years.

Apprenticeship Support Australia (ASA) are contracted by the Australian Government to deliver Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services.

Our team provides a range of free advice, information, and support to employers, trainees, and apprentices with the focus on lifting commencement and completion rates.


About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our Mentoring team.

You will assist individuals and Employers in overcoming any employment challenges that may arise and support them in completing their apprenticeship/traineeship.

This role is focussed on supporting people located in the Remote and Outback WA.

You will love engaging with diverse clients and assisting them to resolve issues remotely (predominately via phone and video conference).

You may get the opportunity, depending on client invitation, to assist our FIFO clients on site.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with a wide range of clients, solving issues and is perfect for those with a people-centric personality.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake risk assessments of clients and engage with them to identify complex issues early.
  • Phone, online and occasional inperson mentoring support to clients to address issues arising throughout the training contract.
  • Set up and maintain Apprenticeship Maintenance Plans (AMPs).
  • Ensure databases and AMPs are maintained accurately, compliantly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain mentoring caseloads and associated outcomes.
This role is a

Full-time, Maximum Term Contract ending

30 June 2024.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be energetic, empathetic, patient and committed to supporting and promoting the individual needs of clients while maintaining positive relationships with them.


You will also possess:

  • A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience.
  • Ability to provide guidance to apprentices, drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values, and academic achievement.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills oral and written.
  • The ability to promote Australian Apprenticeships to prospective clients and represent ASA at events.
  • An understanding/knowledge of apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • The ability to work to and deliver on KPIs.
  • A current driver's license.
If successful in obtaining the position, you will also need to obtain:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
