Your responsibilities will include:


  • The Configuration & Data Management Lead provides technical and tasking leadership of Configuration and Data Management (CDM) activities. Primary responsibilities include implementing a contemporary CDM solutions, working with other functions to take advantage of digital environment capabilities and minimise transactional effort. The role will also be responsible for defining CDM plans and ensuring that CDM activities are undertaken in accordance with the plan, as well as coordination of meetings with the customer to collaborate CDM requirements and tooling needs.

Other day to day tasks include:

  • Define and implement CDM plans that support both a Agile DevSecOps methodology and CDM activity outcomes as required by the contract
  • Manage and coordinate peer reviews of documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met
  • Manage CDRL deliveries to the customer in accordance with established methods, assure customer receipt, and manage customer comment resolution with appropriate authors
  • Manage SDRL and Technical Information deliveries to/from subcontractors
  • Support the coordination and evaluation of GFM deliveries, from the CoA, for quality and content
  • Share information between LMA and external parties, ensuring data sensitivities are maintained
  • Work closely with the Export Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliance with the Project Export / Import (EXIM) Compliance Plan and Sensitive Information procedures
  • Maintain technical documentation records in accordance with the Configuration Management and Technical Data Plans
  • Progress change documents through the review and Change Management process
  • Analyse proposed changes of product design and determine readiness for release of resultant artefacts
  • Work with engineering and drafters to ensure models, drawings and parts are configured and structured within the CM tool
  • Establish and maintain Baselines and material for major project review and milestone activities

About you:


  • Expertise and practical experience implementing Configuration and Data Management practices in development of complex systems
  • Extensive experience in PTC Windchill software or other Enterprise Product Data Management (PDM) systems Strong systems thinking skills and behaviors
  • Ability to maintain process discipline in a dynamic and fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and organisations
  • Significant experience managing sensitive data such as Intellectual Property, Confidential Information, Export Control Information and Security classification
  • An understanding of configuration management of both hardware and software configuration items


As well as the above, any experience with Jira and Confluence or other workgroup collaboration tools and experience working within a Defence environment is highly desirable.

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and are required to hold and maintain AGSVAR security clearance at the required level.
