We are currently assisting a Government Agency to recruit a Accounts Payable Team Leader. This is a 3-month temporary assignment, starting as soon as possible.

The position is responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable function and supervises two part-time accounts payable officers.

The key objective is to provide an efficient and effective account payment service that conforms to relevant legislation and policy.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate the accurate and timely processing and payment of accounts payable invoices.
  • Respond to internal and external queries and resolve queries.
  • Maintain the Creditor Master File, ensuring appropriate documentation is retained for audit purposes.
  • Develop procedure and guidance notes, deliver training and work with stakeholders to improve their knowledge of accounts payable policy, processes and systems.
  • Set objectives and review performance of team members.
  • Maintain policies to ensure appropriate internal control over the accounts payable function.
  • Implement best practice processes and systems to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the accounts payable function.
  • Test the integration of new/upgraded IT systems with the relevant accounts payable functions.
  • Support the operations of the Financial Services Unit Contribute to the operations of the service unit by performing ledger reconciliations, banking services, asset accounting and other tasks as assigned by the Coordinator Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer.
