The Manager, Physiotherapy is a key member of the allied health leadership structure and contributes to the provision and maintenance of physiotherapy services by fulfilling a clinical support and line management role for a small operational group of physiotherapists in operational services, development of policies and standards of practice by providing physiotherapy representation and consultancy to management, Government and non-Government Agencies.


The Manager plans, initiates, manages, and evaluates a number of CALHN physiotherapy services which may include governance, education, research, professional development to enable high quality, safe, and effective services to meet the health needs of the CALHN population.

This may include contributing to the provision of strategic and high level advice to identify and address workforce issues and trends and inform service development and clinical practice consistent with the CALHN.


The Manager collaborates with the Allied Health Directors, Clinical Directorates and other relevant stakeholders to promote and support patient-centred, flexible, responsive services and innovative practice within the Allied Health Directorate across CALHN and business partners.

The Manager, Physiotherapy may also manage a complex clinical case load commensurate with other responsibilities if required.

The Manager may deputise for the Senior Managers, Physiotherapy as required.

Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
