THE OPPORTUNITY:


Reporting to the Group Manager Sustainability, the Principal Climate Change is responsible for leading the development and execution of effective climate change strategies, ensuring alignment with net zero goals and sustainable practices for long-term business impact.


This is a permanent full-time (Monday to Friday) position based at our West Perth office, with ad hoc travel to our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with relevant stakeholders to manage, review and enhance Pilbara Minerals' net zero pathway.
  • Develop shortterm, mediumterm GHG emissions forecasts and report performance against targets.
  • Support the calculation of business emissions.
  • Develop and lead Pilbara Minerals' response to the Safeguard Mechanism.
  • Coordinate lifecycle assessments and support evaluating projects against national and international standards and industry best practices.
  • Support ongoing review and implementation of Pilbara Minerals' internal carbon pricing mechanism.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to integrate climaterelated costs into broader financial planning and reporting.
  • Manage the identification and selection of offset projects that maximise cobenefits.
  • Develop climate reporting in alignment to IFRS S2 Climaterelated Disclosures and support related external assurance and compliance processes.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and materials that effectively convey climaterelated data, strategies, and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU:


  • 10 years mining industry climate change management experience.
  • Effective team collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in facilitating and performing qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, climate risk modeling, quality control, change management, assurance, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with carbon offset markets, project standards, and verification processes.
  • Understanding of related environmental topics such as air quality, water and biodiversity.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerBI
  • Experience in renewable energy.
