Baltimore Aircoil (Australia) Pty Ltd is looking for an Engineering Manager. This position is located at their plant located in Somersby on the NSW Central Coast.


Baltimore Aircoil Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Baltimore Aircoil Company, the worldwide manufacturer and marketer of cooling towers, closed circuit coolers, evaporative condensers, hybrid wet/dry and ice thermal storage products that conserve resources and respect the environment.

The role reports to the Australian & NZ Managing Director and has 5 direct reports.


The purpose of this position is to lead, manage and represent BAC Australia's Engineering function to provide engineering services within BAC(A) for customised manufacturing of products in line with our customers' requirements.

The role manages and develops the team, our processes and systems for continuous improvement. This role connects with global Engineering and is key in leading local implementation of global products, processes and systems


To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position.

A Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, or equivalent) is essential.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least three years in a position managing teams
  • Experienced in Change management
  • Experienced in Engineering design of steel equipment using the applicable Standards
  • Competence with Autodesk Product Design Suite programs (Inventor, Vault, Revit etc)
  • Competent in FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
  • High end user of Autodesk software (ilogic, advanced parametric design)
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Knowledge of a broad range of Standards
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Electrical circuit and PLC experience
  • Usage of ERP systems
- determining, implementing and monitoring engineering strategies, policies and plans
- interpreting plans, drawings and specifications, and providing advice on engineering methods and procedures to achieve construction and production requirements
- establishing project schedules and budgets
- ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, and with laws, regulations and safety standards
- ensuring engineering standards of quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are observed
- overseeing maintenance requirements to optimise efficiency
- liaising with marketing, research and manufacturing managers regarding engineering aspects of new construction and product design
- may contribute to research and development projects
