Job Purpose:

This Customer Development Executive position is both a key contributor to the eCommerce team and a developmental position.

The role has the responsibility to support the rapid eCommerce sales growth and provide analytical support across our customer base in our key eCommerce pure play accounts; Pet Circle, Budget Pet Products and Amazon, as well as manage smaller eCommerce pureplay customers such as Jumbo.

The role reports to the Customer Development manager eCommerce, providing support to the eCommerce customer portfolio.


Support includes, but not limited to, customer website audits and compliance checks, customer data analytic interpretation and visualisation, ROI analysis, invoice and claim processing, ATLAS sales planning and forecasting, and Test & Learn eCommerce projects.


Key Responsibilities:


Customer Engagement (30%)

  • Accounts category review analysis, monthly health checks
  • Input and present at key internal and external meetings
  • Enhancing customer relationships & negotiation
  • Volume and activity planning
  • Tracking A&P and GTN spend in line with budget & contracts
  • Processing claims and invoices monthly
  • Collating competitive intelligence insights to assist sales analysis

Business Development (35%)

  • Managing online content standards
  • Ensure eCommerce customers' compliance with Hill's distribution policies.
  • Promotional planning & submissions, atlas forecasting and NPD/line transitions submissions
  • Manage ROI margin calculator to ensure correct funding levels
  • Responsive action to make changes from Commercial decisions
  • Coordination of clearance for obsolete and deleted stock
  • Communicating key account pricing and competitor activity
  • Saving sales and customer data from key retailers for reporting
  • Update eComm channel sales, promotional and event calendars
  • Preparation and communication of Campaigns e.g. Dental,
  • Assist in preparation of customer JBP and terms negotiation
  • Assist CDM in being a point person for the field team in managing other eCommerce retailers.

Analytics and Insights sharing (30%)

  • Support in Managing all customer eCommerce data points and assist with analysis and reporting
  • Key analytical interpretation and highlighting opportunities
  • Analyse and interpret customer data to improve ROI and promotional activity
  • Utilise Amazon vendor data for insights from unique data points
  • Utilise tools such as Tableau and Profitero to gather and analyse data and opportunities.

Meetings / Presentations(5%)

  • Preparing and participating in account meetings
  • Prepare and present at Internal Commercial Meetings
  • Participate in internal forecasting collaboration meetings
  • Participate and present at wellness and therapeutic meetings
  • Present and attend strategic eCommerce customer meetings
  • Prepare and participate in field sales meetings and report on any eCommerce activations, where applicable.

Required Qualifications:


  • 2+ years sales experience
