The Role:


CDC NSW's HR team is growing and has this exciting opportunity for an experienced People & Culture Specialist within its People & Culture (P&C) team.

This role reports to the General Manager P&C and is responsible for the delivery of the people and culture strategy.

It includes coaching and partnering with managers and collaborating with other leaders whilst building strong relationships across the business to provide solution orientated outcomes.


This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week and based in our Thornton Office in Hunter region with on-site parking and other employee benefits.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing managers and leaders with guidance and coaching support to enable them to better manage employee queries and grievances.
  • Assisting with Enterprise Agreement negotiations
  • Partner closely with managers to execute the people strategy and to follow policies and procedures
  • Lead conversations around talent management, succession planning and team engagement
  • Lead and contribute to strategic projects across CDC NSW
  • Facilitate and lead projects relating to organizational change and transformation
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training and support to managers
  • Assisting with remuneration matters
  • Conduct periodic reviews/develop new policies and guidelines to ensure all statutory obligations are met
  • Assist with recruitment where required, including onboarding processes
  • Identifying areas of improvement related to human resources

About You:


  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field highly desirable
  • Sound level of knowledge in the provision of advice on Industrial Relations issues
  • Demonstrated experience/exposure interacting with unions will be highly regarded, especially in relation to Enterprise Agreement negotiations
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed interpreting Awards and Agreements
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems alongside the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to Manage Conflict and negotiating skills
  • Positive attitude and strong desire to learn and develop
