Primary Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Customer Service Team Leader, the Customer Service Officer will work within a supportive team to provide first line customer service for all of services.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide timely and accurate advice and technical support across customer service functions, including face to face, phone and digital interactions.
  • Deal with first line customer enquiries across all service areas including (but not limited to) Health and Regulatory Services, Finance, Infrastructure Operations, Infrastructure Planning, Community Outcomes, Planning and Development, Facilities, Mapping, Waste and Parks and Reservices.
  • Process customer requests ensuring that accurate, extensive information is entered in Salesforce (CRM) in a timely manner. Liaising with Customers to navigate the system and providing assistance internally to colleagues as required.
  • Develop and maintain, in all dealings, a personal and professional image and responsiveness which embodies quality and supports the corporate values and image of the organisation.
  • Proactively work with customers to resolve enquiries and complaints and report any feedback and outstanding issues to the Team Leader/Manager of Integrity Officer as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of all systems, practices and procedures used throughout all of Council's operations. Participate in identified training programs and assist in promoting internal knowledge transfer by providing mentoring and on the job training for team members.
  • Ensure frequent and ongoing communication with team members and colleagues to enhance work outcomes and service quality. Work to a team roster that meets both the teams and business's operational requirements.
  • Additional duties as required within the limits of the employees skill, competence and training.

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications in Business Admin, Customer Service or extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience working within a customer service environment.
  • Superior verbal communications and engagement skills.
  • Experience within a contact centre
