The Opportunity


We are seeking to appoint a Business Partner within Financial Services (forming part of the Division of Student Services and Operations).

Financial Services operates a professional services model where the provision of financial services is centralised and delivered through a hub model comprising of Colleges, Schools, Institutes and Divisional Units (Budget Centres).


The position is a key member of the Finance Management Team with a specific focus on the delivery of financial services for the Divisional Units within the University.

The Finance Business Partner will actively engage and support the Divisional executive along with budget centre owners to understand and deliver on their financial requirements and provide professional advice, guidance, support, and solutions.

The role will be responsible for managing a small, specialised team of Finance professionals and will be responsible for liaising with management and finance representatives.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Coordinate and manage the budget for the Divisions; Provide leadership, analysis, guidance and support to the budget centres in the formation and delivery of their budgets.
  • Responsible for delivering budget presentations to executive teams, including Divisional management.
  • Ensure budgets are prepared in line with the University's strategy and budgetary processes.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and ensure that accurate and timely financial information is provided to the budget centre owners, project owners and University management.
  • Provide strategic analysis of the financial performance and outcomes of a range of university activities and operations.
  • Liaise with Divisional leadership in providing expert financial advice and assistance in evaluating new business initiatives.
  • Monitor the financial performance and assist in the contract management of a small number of research grants and other external funding arrangements.

Your Application

  • Extensive relevant experience in financial management and/or financial analysis with full membership of an internationally recognised professional accounting body.
  • Proven strong financial, analytical and commercial skills, including well developed problem solving and decisionmaking capabilities and report / presentation capabilities.
  • Proven planning and coordination skills, with the ability to lead Finance teams and budget centre owners to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Extensive experience in leading, managing and developing teams to deliver consistent, highquality service to stakeholders, establishing key team priorities and building cohesiveness.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 10 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $154,061 comprising base salary of $129,730 to $131,676 plus 17% superannuation.
