The HB Group is working with a large, local Government organisation in Toowoomba that services a regional population of 167,657 and employs a team of more than 1600 people.

We are currently seeking an

Operations and Improvements Officer within the Information Communication & Technology Branch to deliver and improve business operations.

Reporting to the Coordinator Service Excellence, the

Operations and Improvements Officer will also perform the administrative, procurement, contract management and customer service functions of the Branch with a focus on supporting Service Excellence.


The salary range for this role is

$77,223.52 to $82,594.58

pa plus 12.65% Superannuation, and 17.5% leave loading. Our client also offers an Employee Assistance Program, access to the Fitness Passport Program, TOIL, free carparking and much more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Employing analytical skills to enhance Branch efficiency whilst ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Providing improvement recommendations to Branch leadership and assisting in the implementation of systems and processes to improve the performance, customer service and accountability of Branch activities.
  • Providing Branch leadership assistance with organisational and Branch reporting requirements
  • Assisting Branch leadership with reviewing and undertaking adjustments of Branch budgets
  • Reviewing and updating procedures and work instructions to achieve improvement activities under direction
  • Providing a high level of customer service by undertaking a wide range of activities and administrative duties to support and enhance effective business functions
Applicants for this role should possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or related field to Diploma level or higher; or a combination of experience, expertise and competence
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse business processes/practices (inclusive of People, Processes and Technology aspects) and identify improvement opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and deliver process improvements
