About Us:

The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) is based at the Coronial Services Centre. This position is within the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria.

The Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria (DTBV) has been established by the VIFM to provide a central facility for the acquisition, processing, storage, and distribution of tissue (e.g.

bone, skin, tendons, and heart valves) for transplantation.

The source of this tissue is mainly from deceased donors whose death falls under the Coroner's Act, but also bone from patients undergoing hip replacement surgery.


About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support VIFM's vision within the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria (DTBV).

This role is an Administrative role within the DTBV, providing administrative functions to support the DTBV's service to the community, to comply with legislative requirements and its overall operation.


Some of your duties will include:

  • Demonstrating compliance with and a thorough understanding of the current Therapeutic Goods Administration guidelines and the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Human Blood and Tissues
  • Providing Executive assistance to the DTBV
  • Head and Managers and compilation of the agenda and associated documentation for the quarterly DTBV council meetings

About you:


  • Proven ability to provide a broad range of administrative support functions
  • Strong understanding of IT systems such as Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and suggest improvements where appropriate
  • A relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous

This includes evidence of
three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).


Acceptable evidence includes:

  • COVID19 digital certificate (available via your myGov account)
  • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)
  • Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID19 vaccine doses._
